Oxford City can use the confidence gained from their impressive 2-2 draw away at league leaders Altrincham to kickstart their season, according to manager Mike Ford.
City are currently second from bottom in Skrill North, but put on a determined display to reverse a two-goal deficit and Ford believes it showed the strength of character his side possesses.
He said: “We turned up here second bottom and they’re top. On the coupon it was a nailed-on home victory.
“We grafted, worked hard and put our bodies on the line and if you do that every week you'll get results.
“If we can go to Altrincham and draw 2-2 then I’m sure we can go to a lot of other places and get the right results.”
And he feels the result could mark the beginning of an upturn in fortunes for City.
“I cannot stress enough the importance of putting in a good, wholehearted, spirited performance on Tuesday to back this up,” added Ford.
“If we get a good performance and result on Tuesday then it is a springboard because we can go to Vauxhall Motors on Saturday with loads of confidence.”
