A REVIEW was held yesterday by Oxford City Council into their decision to list the Kassam Stadium as an asset of community value.
The private hearing was triggered by owners Firoka earlier this month.
They appealed the move, which means if the ground was put up for sale OxVox, U’s supporters’ trust, would have to be informed and given time to put together a competing bid.
Firoka, OxVox and Supporters Direct all outlined their arguments, as did the council’s head of city development, Michael Crofton-Briggs.
A ruling on the review is not expected for several weeks.
The Kassam was the first stadium protected by the measure, but others have followed suit.
Last week Liverpool City Council became the latest authority to use the legislation, recognising Anfield as a community asset.
