Oxford United boss makes Hall call
9:00am Friday 23rd August 2013 in Headlines
CHRIS Wilder has urged Asa Hall to show his talent more consistently.
The midfielder has come on as a substitute in all three league games so far and played more than an hour in the 3-1 win at Torquay United last weekend.
Hall, who is back for a second spell at the club on a six-month loan from Shrewsbury Town, replaced the injured Sean Rigg and went on to score the visitors’ third goal.
Wilder was not surprised by the impact, but wants to see the 26-year-old deliver more often.
The United manager said: “Asa’s got so much natural ability and we just want to see it come out.
“He's a good player and we feel he should do better than he does.
“I think he's shown flashes of his quality and hopefully he does it more consistently.
“I just want the supporters to see what we do in training.
“He wants to play for the club and hopefully when he gets his chances, as he did at Torquay, he shows everybody what he's all about.”
Hall has made it clear he wants to earn a longer deal with the U’s and will be looking for more of the same if he plays against Wycombe tomorrow.
He said: “I want to be here contributing.
“The goal will help and hopefully I can continue and get a few more.”
