FOOTBALL: Six in a row for North Leigh

NORTH Leigh made it six victories in succession as they saw off high-riding Swindon Supermarine 2-1 in last night’s Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West fixture at Eynsham Park.

Ryan Brooks put the home side one up on 21 minutes when he finished off Connor McDonagh’s fine through ball by slotting home.

And it became 2-0 just before the break when Swindon keeper Kent Kauppinen failed to hold onto Stuart Hole’s free-kick and Jon Else nipped in to score.

John Steedman reduced the deficit soon after half-time, but North Leigh held on.
