FOOTBALL: Clewer seals it

Chalgrove fought back from a goal down to beat Kidlington Old Boys 4-1 at home to reach the semi-finals of the Oxfordshire Intermediate Cup.

Billy Truby raced clear of the Chalgrove defence before smashing the ball into the top corner to give his side the lead.

But Nick Skiller levelled when he headed in Ricky Armstrong’s free-kick, before Simon Godfrey put Chalgrove ahead from the penalty spot after the break.

James Quainton lashed home Chalgrove’s third, before Callum Clewer sealed the turnaround when he found the bottom corner of the net.

Berinsfield, from North Berks League Division 1, reached the last four with a comprehensive 6-2 win at home to Oxford Irish Res.

Chris Murphy and Mark Ingham led the way with doubles as Berinsfield outclassed their opponents from Division 3 of the Oxfordshire Senior League.

David Murphy and Mason Curtis completed the hosts’ goal tally.
