SCHOOLS' FOOTBALL: Oxon fall to Hants in opener

Oxfordshire Under 16s went down 3-0 to Hampshire in their South West Counties Competition opener at Winchester City.
George Reid hit the Hampshire bar from a free-kick and also had a header cleared off the line, before Tommy Wright fired the hosts into the lead on the half-hour.
Hampshire doubled their advantage when Lewis Oliver reacted quickest to a loose ball following a corner to score from six yards.
And they added a third when Jack Waters’s free-kick eluded keeper Ben Taylor’s grasp.
Oxfordshire open the defence of their ESFA Under 16 Inter County Trophy against Staffordshire at Stafford Town next Wednesday (7).
VALE of White Horse’s ESFA Under 15 Trophy third round tie against Barking & Dagenham will take place at Fairlop Powerleague, Ilford, on Saturday, November 10 (11.30).
Meanwhile, Vale take on Hackney & Tower Hamlets in the ESFA Under 13 Trophy second round at Milton United on Tuesday (7).
JACK Spittle and Aaron Heap hit hat-tricks as Marlborough, Woodstock, swept aside Milton Keynes Academy 14-3 in the ESFA Under 13 Schools’ Cup third round.
Craig Fasanmade, George McEachran and Jed Rivett bagged braces, with Raffy Rice and Alex Innocenti completing the hosts’ tally.
