Oxford United have signed midfielder Paul McLaren until the end of the season.
The 34-year-old was on trial with the club in November after being released by Tranmere Rovers.
Manager Chris Wilder said: “We tried to sign him in the summer, but we couldn’t. So when he became available we jumped at the opportunity.”
McLaren started his career at Luton Town in 1994 and has played 450 games in the football league.
He said: “I’m looking forward to getting started at Oxford. It is a great set up here and I really want to play well for the club and break into the first team soon.”
