In the latest column written by fans, MICHAEL NORTH on how he created an unexpected hobby

IN 2010 the club shop stopped selling past match-day programmes.

When a friend missed one, I went to the ticket office and saw the assistant rummaging through boxes to find it.

It didn’t seem very efficient, so I volunteered to sell past programmes, unaware what an avalanche it would cause.

Fans brought their unwanted past programmes to sell, while others brought wanted lists, so I simply matched them up.

Fans also donated replica shirts and other memorabilia, so I began selling these too.

Six years on and our home has programmes stuffed in every corner and the surface of my dining table hasn’t been seen for a long time.

But it’s a very enjoyable hobby and at match days I now have six tables and two friends helping me out.

We have raised over £16,000 for the club, with more being raised each year – we hit £3,000 last season.

I have met lots of lovely people and some have become very good friends.

It’s great to see how united the club and fans can be when we all work together.
