DANNY Hylton came up with a novel way to thank Oxford United’s fans for their backing after scoring in midweek.
The forward scored to seal a 3-1 win against Notts County and ended up hugging a jubilant supporter behind the goal.
Hylton, who was booked for the celebration, did not know the man, despite the photograph suggesting otherwise.
He said: “The fans have been class and again on Tuesday they were brilliant, even when we were 1-0 down.
“We’re going to need that, so I just got in amongst it.
“I’ve seen the pictures and it looks like he was a special friend, but it’s all good.”
