OXFORD United’s style will give Cambridge United a different challenge tomorrow, according to head coach Richard Money.

The visitors will arrive at the Abbey Stadium looking to impose themselves and play their way out from the back.

Money is full of respect for the way U’s boss Michael Appleton is looking to play and admits it will give his side a problem to solve.

He said: “Michael’s worked at good levels in the game, as has (assistant head coach) Derek (Fazackerley), and they are very modern in their philosophy.

  • Latest United news:

“They’re trying to play football all over the pitch, so that in itself presents a challenge which we have to really make sure we meet in the right way.

“Their results recently have been particularly good and what looked a difficult start suddenly becomes some real green shoots of promise, and they’ve played particularly well in recent games.”

Both sides won their last game, bouncing back from defeat.

The pair are in the bottom half of the Sky Bet League Two table and Money is viewing the game as an opportunity to begin putting a run together.

He said: “It looks to be the type of league where one win gets you looking at the top end of the table and one defeat keeps you looking over your shoulder.

“If you can put two, three or four results together you can see the significant jump that you can make in this type of table.

“That has to be our aim in the short term.”
