KINGSTON Bagpuize 2nd saw their Division 8 title hopes end after their match against Horspath 4th was abandoned.

Bagpuize could only pick up six points, while Cublington 2nd sealed top spot with an eight-wicket victory over Chearsley 2nd.

Kingston must now hold off Oxford Downs 3rd for the runners-up spot.

Dick Giles (4-29) took all the wickets to fall as Horspath made 74-4 before the rain intervened.

There was a thriller in the only Division 10 clash to beat the bad weather as Great & Little Tew 4th edged out Aston Rowant 4th by two runs.

Lawrence Brock fired 81 in Tew’s 151-9, while Steve Wills hit 30 and Hendrick Robyns took 4-20.

Gary Condon made 75 in Rowant’s reply, but Paul Catling’s 4-32 and Gary Brock’s 3-38 ensured they were dismissed for 149.

Twyford 2nd boosted their promotion hopes in Division 6 courtesy of a three-wicket victory over Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts 2nd .

Paul Sly was their star performer with 5-21.
