DIDCOT moved within striking distance of leaders Horley by battering Brackley.

Matt Jones (6-34) was in complete control as the winless visitors crawled to 123 all out from 51.2 overs. Harry Brooker and Jamie Fowler scored 30 apiece.

Simon Pritchard (77) and Ian Demain (33) found scoring easier as Didcot dashed to 128-2 after 28.

Challow & Childrey 2nd are up to third after squeezing past Kimble by eight runs.

Justin Penrose (78) was the mainstay of Challow’s 170 all out, while Michael Stackhouse (4-50) and Adrian Rose (4-56) were otherwise on top.

Jonathan Stackhouse then hit 39, but Rob Harries (4-51) and Nigel Hill (3-10) saw Kimble crash to 162 all out.

Robin Pykett took 4-28 from 12.1 overs and Neil Smith 3-20 from 13 as Thame Town 2nd tumbled to 93 all out.

Ian McStay then claimed 4-51, but could not stop Tiddington reaching 94-6.

Mike Howe-Davies’s fine 56 was enough to secure an impressive win for Abingdon Vale 2nd at Horspath 3rd.

The hosts had managed only 109 before being bowled out, Adam Thompson contributing 34. Vale then raced to 110-2 in only 22.4 overs.
