RHIAN Todd carried her bat, but could not save Oxfordshire from a 24-run defeat to Cornwall in Division 5 South & West of the ECB Women's County Championship.
Opener Todd made 48 not out as Oxon chased 161 for victory before falling short on 136 at Oxford Downs CC.
Leg-spinner Ellie Porter took 4-24 from her ten overs, with Sam Moore claiming 2-8, but Oxon bowled 35 wides and Cornwall put on 31 for the last wicket to reach 160.
In reply, Oxon could not build a significant partnership as Charlotte Phillips (3-16) and Melissa Rowe (3-21) took charge.
Cornwall closed out victory despite bowling 41 wides themselves.
