A maiden century from Ross Barrett (101no) and a fine innings from Lloyd Sabin 97 saw Oxon score 262-1 dec from 49 overs in a drawn ECB Under 15 County Championship game against Isle of Wight at Stonesfield.
Oxon’s opening pair put on 209 for the first wicket, but could not capitalise.
The hosts had 56 overs to dismiss the Isle of Wight and they came so close to doing so with the visitors finishing on 125-9.
Jamie Coles produced a fine bowling performance, taking a haul of 6-10 in 13 miserly overs.
Despite that, Oxon had to settle for the draw as Isle of Wight batted stoutly to see out the match with nine wickets down.
