Ellie Bath’s terrific all-round display helped Oxford to a 16-run win at Moseley, which saw them move up to second place in Women’s Midlands League Division 1.

Put in to bat on a slow pitch, Oxford struggled and were indebted to an innings of 55 by skipper Bath.

However, only one other player reached double figures as they slipped from 107-6 to 109 all out.

Moseley found it hard to score runs against Oxford's Ellie and Charlie Noble, bowling in tandem for the first time this season, and struggled to 44-1 after 23 overs.

Despite the loss of only one wicket, Moseley could not break free, and were 44-1 after 23 overs.

Oxford's Genny Porter and Riannon Brown ratcheted up the pressure, before a middle-order collapse against Bath (4-19) saw the hosts slump to 93-8 from 45 overs in reply.

Scores: Oxford 109 (E Bath 55), Moseley 93-8 (E Bath 4-19).

Captain Kate Davies and Amber Reed starred as Banbury won by 92 runs at Moddershall in Division 2.

Davies hit an unbeaten 74 out of Banbury’s 163-5 off 45 overs after they had been put in to bat, with opening partner Chloe Hill making 45.

Reed, a member of England’s World Cup-winning rugby team last year, then took 4-18 on her debut as Modershall were rolled over for 71.

Scores: Banbury 163-5 (45 ovs, K Davies 74no, C Hill 45), Moddershall 71 (32.5 ovs, A Reed 4-18).
