Chairman Ray Wood expects it will be at least another two weeks before a decision is made on the composition of the Home Counties Premier League (HCPL) next season.

Wood was speaking after the Hertfordshire clubs, who form part of the league, backed a proposal of their own to breakaway.

HCPL chiefs held a management meeting on Tuesday, but no decisions were taken on the issue.

“It will be a week or two,” said Wood. “We are going through various things and talking to various people and clubs before we put a stamp on it, whichever way it goes.”

If the breakaway went ahead it would have major implications for Oxfordshire clubs in terms of promotion and relegation.
