PERSISTENT rain caused the second day of Oxfordshire’s Unicorns Counties Championship match against Devon in Exeter to be abandoned without a ball being bowled.
The first day of the Western Division clash had been evenly contested.
Oxon recovered from 90-5 to reach 273 all out thanks to Richard Kaufman (76) and skipper Jonny Cater (69).
At the close, Devon had battled to 134-3 in reply, off-spinner Harvey Eltham having taken two wickets.
Some inventive captaincy is required on the final day tomorrow, if Oxfordshire are to record their first victory of the season in either the one-day or three-day game.
