OXFORDSHIRE made it four defeats in four matches in the Unicorns Trophy when they lost by a convincing 108 runs to Cornwall in their last Group 1 match at Werrington yesterday.
Two years after reaching the final, Oxon finished bottom of their group.
Skipper Luke Ryan put Cornwall into bat on a sunny morning and seamer Chad Keegan struck three times to leave the hosts poorly placed at 51-3.
However, a superb innings by Brad Wadlan changed the course of the match.
The left-hander struck five sixes and 17 fours while making 132 off just 110 balls on the small ground.
He received good support in a third wicket stand of 150 with Paul Smith, which laid the platform for a huge total.
The Oxon bowlers were helpless as Cornwall smashed 30 from the last two overs to reach 342-7 from their 50 overs.
Despite the huge target, Oxon gave it a go.
Top scorer was Lloyd Sabin who hit 74 off 56 balls, before being unluckily run out at the bowler’s end when a return catch from Richard West was deflected into the stumps.
Oxon hit out after that and were were eventually all out for 234 in the 39th over, off-spinner Christian Purchase taking 6-51
