A SUPERB all-round display from Anupam Sanklecha gave Shipton-under-Wychwood a resounding 68-run victory away to Thame Town in Division 2 on Saturday.

Sanklecha followed his half-century with a spell of 7-47 from 16.5 overs to dismiss the hosts for 125 in reply to Shipton’s total of 193.

Shipton, put in to bat, slipped to 27-3, with Michael Beard taking two wickets.

And at 84-5, following the dismissal of Jamie Perkin for 36, Thame were in control.

But Sanklecha responded with a high-class 51, and with support from the tail, lifted the visitors to 193 in 58 overs.

He then spread-eagled the Thame top order to leave them 46-5 and finished with 7-47 as Thame were all out in 37.5 overs.

The only resistance for Thame, who stay in the bottom three, came from Matt MacDonald with 32.

Samad Fellah took his amazing tally to 30 wickets in five games as Oxford marched on at the top with a seven-wicket rout of struggling Cookham Dean.

The left-arm seamer took 6-33 as hosts Cookham, who chose to bat first, were shot out for 83 before lunch in 23 overs.

The other wickets were taken by promising off-spinner Harvey Eltham, who returned 4-27, including top scorer Ben Millar (21).

Oxford knocked off the runs in 22.4 overs.

Horspath stay second following an eight-wicket win at home to Gerrards Cross.

Left-arm spinner Lloyd Belcher (4-39) and Adam Price (3-44) led the way as Gerrards Cross were bowled out for 162 after being put in to bat.

It was only Matthew Brown’s belligerent 58 from 65 balls with a six and ten fours which saved the visitors from succumbing for an even smaller total after they had been 118-8.

Horspath raced to 164-2 off 31.4 overs with Jimmy Phillips smashing 67 from 57 balls with three sixes and eight fours.

He shared an opening stand of 103 with Jamie Stead (35), before Rameez Raja (35no) sealed victory and a double over the Bucks club.

Aston Rowant lost by two wickets to Datchet.

Having been put in, Rowant got off to a bright start, Damien Shirazi (35) and Alex Jewell adding 76 for the first wicket.

The middle order collapsed to Chris Peploe (4-51) and it needed a late 27 from 20 balls by Leo Bethell to lift them to 178-9.

Datchet, by contrast, slipped to 12-3, but Peploe (58no) and Steve Naylor (48), turned the tide and they scrambled home by two wickets, despite a fine spell from Andrew Dyer (4-71).
