PETER Tomlin believes it is time for younger blood to get involved in the running of the Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League.
Tomlin this week resigned as secretary and registration secretary, with league chairman Martin Phillips citing the outgoing committee member had "found himself out of step with much of the thinking of member clubs recently" and did not feel he had their support "in the way that he did in the past".
Tomlin, who has spent almost 20 years administering the Cherwell and then the Home Counties leagues, did not wish to comment on the manner of his departure, but said: "Now is maybe the time for a younger person to come in.
"Views about the game have changed enormously.
"I was planning on stepping down at the end of the season anyway, but just felt the time was right to do it now."
He will, however, remain as secretary of the umpires panel.
