BILAL Afzal was the toast of Division 6 with an incredible 225 not out, but Twyford 2nd still could not manage victory against Sandford St Martin 2nd.
Afzal’s scintillating knock allowed Twyford to declare on 340-3 after 48 overs.
Chasing the mammoth total, Sandford closed on 193-7, Colin Simpson hitting 81.
Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts 2nd came unstuck at Buckingham Town 3rd, losing by 112 runs.
Vishal Valambhia smashed 151 in Buckingham’s 265-5 dec, before Brijesh Valambhia took 5-46 to help dismiss Nondies for 153.
Great & Little Tew 3rd and Banbury 4th drew with the scores level in a thriller.
Banbury posted 182-6 in their 53 overs, Steve Partington striking 93.
Tew went into the final over with all results possible, thanks largely to Sam Barnes’s 81 not out. But they finished on 182-9.
Trevor Spindler took 7-58 for Horspath 4th in their six-wicket win at Witney Mills 2nd in Division 7.
Mills were all out for 120 thanks to Spindler’s haul, before Horspath made 123-4.
In Division 10, Jonny Atkins’s 101 was in vain for Aston Rowant 5th, who drew at Kingston Bagpuize 2nd.
Kingston posted 225-5 before Atkins led Rowant’s reply of 162-5.
