Nice story, shame it isn't true. I was never going to Oxford in the first it was simply to be a telephone interview. Here's the email I sent to the radio station on Saturday-

    Dear ******,

Word reaches me this morning that rather than an interview with one of your presenters about BNP policy as originally sold to me, Monday's show is to be a "debate" between me and a member of the far left.

Unfortunately the far left don't do "debate" when it come to the BNP. Instead what we will see is an outpouring of hatred, poison and hostility that might make sensationalist radio, but will effectively drag me down to their level.

My time, although ostensibly given freely, is precious to me and I can find alternatives for a Monday morning that do not involve being shouted at, vilified and abused as part of a contrived, confrontational spectacle.

If you had let me know of your intentions in the first place it would have been better, however I'm giving you as much notice as I can so as not to disappoint or inconvenience your listeners.

    Simon
Simon, I would suggest at least a "letter to the editor" for the usual misleading and downright awful reporting that we get from the O.M. and possibly a complaint somewhere. You will notice that there is no credit to a "reporter" on this story, so where it came from who knows. The O.M. keeps on telling us how many awards that they win, but never admit to the rubbish and inaccurate reporting that we have to put up with day in day out. Or maybe you could give an interview to a reporter (that is if they actually have one, and don't just take their stories from the web) that would be enlightening, and welcomed by all of us.
Since when did you become the spokesperson for "all of us"?

The height of arrogance or delusions of grandeur?
Since Bobby Boy people like you hit the report button to freely and get other people accounts deleted because your very fragile ego has been hurt. People like you need to go to the sandal knitting appreciation society if you want a polite chat, not here for an adult heated debate, but who would have thought that in Oxford of all places that debate is stifled on the website of the premier local newspaper because of people like you."

BNP pulls visit

FORMER British National Party deputy party leader Simon Darby cancelled a visit to OX105FM yesterday over fears of being “vilified”.

He had been due to join presenters and take calls on the Blackbird Leys-based community radio station, but cancelled when he discovered producers had lined up a debate with city councillor and Independent Working Class Association member Stuart Craft.
