Aston Rowant never recovered from a poor start, but still made visitors Slough work for their three-wicket success in Division 2 West.

After being put in, Rowant faltered to 43-4 before Chris Watling and Richard Cook tried to revive the innings.

However, once Cook went for 44, nobody could stay with Wes Morrick, who was last out for 39 at 165 in the 59th over.

Slough also started shakily, slipping to 45-3.

However, they regrouped thanks to skipper Bobby Sher.

No bowler could match Morrick’s control – 1-35 off 19 overs – although Chris Leaney’s brace of wickets made it 120-5 and gave Rowant hope.

However, Sher guided Slough to the brink of victory before being out for 61.
