DIVISION 2

Joe Harris took a hat-trick in figures of 5-30 as Challow & Childrey beat visitors Great & Little Tew 2nd by eight wickets to secure the runners-up spot and send Tew down to Division 3 in the process.

Harris and George Trewby (3-39) combined to dismiss Tew for just 125.

Ryan Gordon (39no) then led Challow’s reply as they eased to 126-2 in the 25th over.

Challow had to settle for second place as Buckingham Town 2nd wrapped up the title with a three-wicket win at Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts.

Relegated Nondies gave a good account of themselves, however.

They were all out for 154, but took seven Buckingham wickets, Ross Brown taking 3-31.

A fine knock of 55 from Steve Brunning proved key as the visitors reached 158-7 to secure the title.

Sandford St Martin were held to a draw by a resolute Didcot.

Ollie Ong (58no) and Paul Tanner (51) helped Sandford to 250-8 in their 53 overs, Rob Keat taking 3-65.

Didcot lost regular wickets in their reply, Ong taking 4-24.

But Richard Cook (66) and Vishane Perera (33) ensured they avoided defeat, helping their side to finish on 174-8.

Cropredy fell to a 131-run defeat at Bledlow Village after Harry Bartlett scored an excellent century.

Bartlett’s 113 and Olly Woodward (52) helped Bledlow to 288 all out in the 52nd over, Saim Hussain taking 4-64.

Cropredy were never in the hunt in their reply, and were all out for 157.

Oxford 2nd’s season finished with a five-wicket defeat at home to Leighton Buzzard Town.

Jack Kempster claimed 4-25 in Oxford’s 166 all out, Andrew Russell top-scoring with 40.

Greg Proudfoot (54) then led Buzzard’s reply as they reached 168-5.

DIVISION 3

Westbury wrapped up the second promotion spot with an astonishing nine-wicket victory at home to Oxford Downs 2nd.

Harry Williams took 6-12 and Charlie Harper 4-11 as Westbury ran through the Downs’ order for a paltry 25, Paddy Daniel top-scoring with seven.

Westbury then reached 28-1 in the eighth over to secure the runners-up spot.

Banbury 3rd’s season of struggle ended on a high as their 56-run win at home to Cublington ensured they finished outside the bottom two.

Neil Megson hit 51 to help Banbury to 231-9 in their 53 overs.

And fellow veteran Mike Simpson then took 4-69 to dismiss visitors Cublington for 175 to secure the victory which kept Banbury out of the drop zone.

East Oxford end bottom after losing by eight wickets at home to Great Brickhill 2nd.

Amir Butt hit 60 in East Oxford’s 142-9, before Chris Jones struck 75 to steer Brickhill to victory at 145-2.

Bicester & North Oxford ended with a crushing 151-run victory at Horley.

Dan Savin hit 76 not out and Lewis Moore 51 as Bicester racked up 284 all out.

Horley fell for 133 in reply, Daniel Clark taking 5-21 and David Finch hitting 65.

DIVISION 4

Minster Lovell wrapped up the title in their first season in the league after a six-wicket win at Tiddington 2nd.

The hosts won the toss and opted to bat first, but were restricted to just 120-8 in their 53 overs thanks to an excellent bowling and fielding display, led by Brian Barrett’s 3-28 in 16 economical overs.

And the west Oxfordshire side needed only 25 overs to reach the victory target as skipper Harry Ebsworth hit 47 and Ollie Mersh 31.

Stokenchurch were held to a draw by a battling Shipton-under-Wychwood 2nd, but finish as runners-up nonetheless.

Batting first, Stokenchurch were bowled out in 38 overs for 216, Paul Maddock hitting 59 and Chris North 50 and Rob Panting taking 3-42.

Shipton had 62 overs to bat, and just held on at 198-9, Anthony Prior-Wandesford finishing 31 not out and Josh Triggs taking 5-52.

Witney Mills leapfrogged Brackley into third with a two-wicket win in a low-scoring match in Northants.

Mills inserted their hosts, and bowled them out for 119 as Ollie Burney took 4-44 and Pierre Lefort 3-36.

Mills lost regular wickets, but crept over the winning line at 121-8 in the 60th over.

They must now wait to see if their third-placed finish will be enough to secure promotion.

Thame Town 2nd lost by three wickets at Dinton 2nd, despite a century from James Nielson.

Nielson’s 104 helped Thame to 223-8 in their 53 overs.

Matt Ridgway then took 5-64 but Dinton secured victory at 224-7.

Horspath 3rd went down by one wicket against Bletchley Town.

After being all out for 142, Adrian Manger took 6-46, but Bletchley got to at 143-9.
