STONESFIELD put a big dent in Faringdon’s title hopes with a two-wicket win in the only OCA League Division 1 game to survive the wet weather.

The visitors were restricted to 159-7 in a match reduced to 35 overs per side as Dan Sherbourne took 3-35 and Sam Hibberd 3-36.

Stonesfield lost wickets at regular intervals as Alex Robinshaw took 5-34.

But Adrian Birkett (37), Shoaib Ahmed (35) and Mike Phipps (30) saw them over the line at 161-8.

Wootton & Boars Hill closed the gap on Division 2 leaders Witney Swifts to just nine points with a 37-run victory.

Billy Webb hit 42 as Wootton set 161-7.

Swifts struggled to 124-7, Kieran Foggett hitting 48 and Josh Grant 42.

Marsh Gibbon edged past hosts Broughton & North Newington by one wicket in a 35-over per side match.

Paul Derry (71) and Andy Parsons (50) helped Broughton to 177-7.

Marsh Gibbon got to the final over with the scores level, thanks to Jayson Abbott (56no) and Joe Leonard (55).

The winning run came when an inside edge clipped leg stump, but did not remove the bails and ran away to secure Marsh victory.

Wantage eased to a six-wicket win at Chadlington in a 25-over a side match.

Chadlington set 125-6, before Ian Challand (39no) led Wantage to 126-4.

Eynsham brushed aside visitors Clifton Hampden by nine wickets in a 35-over game.

Three wickets apiece for Sam Hollingshead and Roland Margerison restricted Clifton to 122-9, and then Sam Jones struck 89 not out to steer Eynsham home.

Westcott were too strong for visitors Chipping Norton with an 86-run win in a 25-over a side match.

George Dalton (43no) led the way in Westcott’s 157-6, and the home side then dismissed Chippy for 71, James Bateman taking 3-16.

In Division 3, Fringford picked up a rare victory, but remain bottom of the table.

They ran out eight-run winners at Risinghurst in a match of 25 overs per side.

Shahin Ali hit 66 in Fringford’s 135-4, before Shaun Foote claimed 3-20 to help restrict Risinghurst to 127-7.

Stanton Harcourt eased to a seven-wicket win at home to Cairns Fudge.

The visitors posted a good total of 193-5, Martin Hanscombe top-scoring with 65.

But Tim Senior scored 65 not out in Harcourt’s reply as they eased to 197-3 with more than eight overs to spare.

Leaders Middleton Cheney beat hosts Watlington by five wickets.

Three wickets apiece for Tommy Owen, Steve Wilkes and Alastair Dennison helped to dismiss Watlington for 110.

Steve Twynham then hit 68 as Cheney reached 113-5.

Division 4 leaders Brill marched on with a 174-run victory at home to Uffington.

Phil Chanel (69no), Dale Sweetman (63) and Jeremy Mansfield (53) helped Brill set 249-8.

Andy Wynd took 6-12 and Darren Kavanagh 3-16 as Uffington were shot out for 75.

Deddington saw off hosts Marcham by three wickets in a 30-over per side match.

Tom Beresford hit 50 in Marcham’s 131-9, but 51 from Maneesh Verma and 35 from Chris Blackburn helped Deddington over the line at 135-7.

HOOK Norton stretched their lead at the top of Division 5 as they beat hosts Great Horwood 2nd by six wickets.

The home side were shot out for 76 as Jordan Glazier took 3-5, before Hooky eased in at 77-4.

Ducklington saw off visitors Kennington by 38 runs.

Bill Bowman (46) and Jacob Hughes (44no) helped Ducklington to 194 all out, Simon Palmer taking 5-38.

Jamie Zoldan claimed 4-26 as Kennington were bowled out for 156, Graham Rowley hitting 69.

Radley won a low-scoring match at home to Steventon by 49 runs.

They had managed only 89 all out, but Richard Cook was the star with 6-16, including a first-ever league hat-trick, as Steventon were skittled for 40.

Wolvercote 2nd beat visitors Britwell Salome by six wickets.

They had restricted Britwell to 138-8 as Darren Jones and Robert Glenny took three wickets apiece.

Nicolas Pinhol (40) and Jones (34) then led Wolvercote to 141-4.

In Division 6, Oxenford 2nd thumped visitors Chipping Norton 2nd by nine wickets.

Chippy were bowled out for 55 as Sameer Kesava took 3-10 and Rafiullah Kakar 3-16.

Oxenford reached 59-1 to wrap up a convincing victory.

Middleton Cheney 2nd went top of Division 7 after beating visitors Stanton Harcourt 2nd by five wickets.

Simon Hadland hit 45 in Stanton’s 168-6, before James Tillcock struck 66 not out to lead Cheney to 172-5.

Witney Swifts 2nd beat Stonesfield 2nd by 153 runs in another rain-affected match.

Swifts set 199-8 in a reduced 35 overs, Edd Priest hitting 70 and Adam Lambert taking 4-35.

Stonesfield fell for 46 in reply as Shad Khan took 3-15.

In Division 8 North, Swinbrook 2nd beat hosts Charlbury 3rd by 42 runs.

Callum Dadge top-scored with 61 in Swinbrook’s 213-8.

Charlbury were then restricted to 171-9, Theo Stapleton returning 3-15.

Leaders Chadlington 2nd fell to a 41-run defeat at Hook Norton 2nd.

Mark Parker hit 58 and Rob Webb 44 in Hooky’s 184 all out, Glenn McCallum taking 4-23.

Chadlington were then restricted to 143-9 in reply.

Risinghurst 2nd defeated Deddington 2nd by 28 runs in a low-scoring affair.

They had been bowled out for 94 as Kate Williamson took 5-33.

But Deddington fell to 66 all out, Josh Swadling and Raj Kumar each taking three wickets.

Three wickets apiece for Alyn Davies and Hashim Shah and 53 from Phil Walsh helped Wolvercote 3rd to a six-wicket win at home to Westcott 2nd.

Division 8 South leaders Chalgrove were too strong for Sunningwell in a nine-wicket win.

Keith Coleman took 5-29 as Sunningwell were all out for 101, before James Little (42no) and Matthew Skilleter (35no) led Chalgrove to 102-1.

Watlington 2nd saw off hosts Kennington 2nd by five wickets.

Restricting their hosts to 79-9, Watlington reached 81-5 to wrap up victory.

Five-wicket hauls for Ollie Clark (5-17) and Ashley Green (5-13) helped Uffington 2nd to a 125-run win over visitors Marcham 2nd.

Uffington set 163-9, Dominic French-Davis scoring 43 and Richard Wightman taking 4-33.

Marcham had no answer to Clark and Green as they were tumbled out for 38.

Hanborough reached the final of the Telegraph Cup after beating Sunningwell by four wickets in Sunday’s semi-final.

Chasing Sunningwell’s 145-6, Hanborough reached 148-6 as Aston Leach hit 34 and Joseph Burgess 33.
