DEBUTANT Fred Price hit an unbeaten half-century as Oxfordshire B cantered to an easy eight-wicket victory over Bedfordshire in the Over 50s Southern Counties Championship.
Having been put into bat in the East Group clash at Flitwick, the hosts found it hard going and were restricted to 68-5.
But a spirited reply from Subash Karavadra (41) and Masood Mahmood (25), who put on 71 runs for the sixth wicket, enabled the hosts to close on 153.
The Bedfordshire cause was not helped with four of their batsmen being run out.
Oxon wasted little time in pursuing their target, putting on 82 for the first wicket, before Andrew Hodder-Williams (41) was dismissed.
Price (62no) and Ross Buchanan (25no) then took the score to 154-2 to secure victory with 12 overs to spare.
Oxon are now 27 points clear at the top, boosting their chances of a home semi-final spot.
