GEORGE Sandbach smashed 174 not out as Oxford Downs won by 91 runs at home to Langford in the first round of the Pipers Crisps Village Cup.

Thanks to Sandbach, Downs racked up 276-5, before Langford fell for 185.

Tiddington hammered hosts Horspath by 152 runs.

Nick Pykett (69) and Will Goodman (51) helped Tiddington to 226-8 in their 40 overs, Asad Rafiq taking 5-44.

Horspath fell for just 74, Neil Smith taking 4-21 and Pykett 4-25.

Aston Rowant beat Kingston Bagpuize by 145 runs.

Star of the show was Tom Condon who scored 160 not out as Rowant rattled up 299-4. He shared a double-century stand with Tim Morgan (76).
