FORMER St Edward’s, Oxford, pupil AJ Woodland has been named the tenth Wisden Schools Cricketer of the Year.
Woodland captained the school to a record-breaking 2016 season with 15 wins in all formats.
During the season, he broke the school’s batting record, scoring 1,207 runs , taking his career school tally to 2,734, alongside his 76 wickets In a match against Abingdon School, Woodland scored 204 not out, the first double-hundred in the school’s history. His opening partnership of 310 with Ben Charlesworth was another record.
