SIMON Porter, the former leading Oxfordshire cricket official and player, has died at the age of 66.
At time of his death, he was president of the Cherwell League, having previously been chairman while a player with Headington United CC.
An off-spinning all-rounder, Porter played for Oxford University and Oxfordshire CCC before becoming involved in the administration of both clubs.
A much respected administrator, he was appointed president of the the Minor Counties Championship in 2008.
Porter, who died in Headington, leaves a widow and two daughters, both of whom played for Oxfordshire.
