Lawrence Brock revealed that his thoughts were with his grandad, Bernie Brock, who died last October, after he took 9-49 for Great & Little Tew 2nd against Bledlow Village in Cherwell League Division 2.
The 19-year-old left-arm seamer’s superb spell sent the visitors crashing to 118 all out last Saturday to set Tew on the way to an eight-wicket win.
And Brock, who lives at Kirtlington, said: “My family always come and watch, and my grandad passed away last October.
“If he had still been around he would have been proud of me, so it was a little bit emotional as well.”

Brock took the first nine wickets in his allocation of 17 overs, before the last man fell to a catch by his brother, Lloyd, off Kevin Taylor.
Lawrence, who will be looking to add to his tally at home to Didcot tomorrow, added: “I think I had about four overs at the last man. There was one big shout, but the umpire didn’t put his figure up.”
