Banbury are in prime form ahead of tomorrow’s Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League Division 1 top-of-the-table battle at home to Henley, according to skipper Luke Ryan.

Both sides go into the game, having won three out of three – and with the limited-overs format something has got to give.

Ryan, who will choose from 12 having added Ashley Blanchard to the side which won at Harefield last week, said: “It is going to be a good indication as to where we are.

“They are an extremely successful side. It’s a big test for us, but we couldn’t be in a better place to take that on.

“We have not lost a game so far, so we are very confident.”

Horspath give a debut to wicket-keeper Andy Roberts as they seek to break their duck at home to Burnham.

He steps up from the 2nd XI with Jasper Davies unavailable.

Batsman Kit Cutter is also away, while seamer Jamil Faruq is out with a groin strain.

However, experienced all-rounder Pat Foster returns and batsman Steve Green comes into the side.

Fifteen-year-old Harrison Ward will again open the batting after his impressive 47 on debut at Henley last week.

Skipper Will Eason said: “We all knew he is decent, but I think Saturday’s innings proved how good he is. I thought he was absolutely outstanding.”

Oxford skipper Ian Crosby and batsman Stewart Laudat are back as the basement boys visit Slough.

They replace Freddie Simon and Ian Evans.
