SOME strong performances helped Team Oxfordshire finish third in round one of the National Junior Athletics League at Sutton Arena.

Competing in the Southern Section Brent Division, Oxon were just four points off second-placed Harrow in the under 20 event, which took place in wet conditions.

James Cody (Radley) was the leading men’s performer, winning the 800m in 2mins 1.4secs.

White Horse Harrier Becky Hodgson produced the best ladies’ display, clocking 60.4 secs to take the 400m.

This is the second year the composite team, comprising Abingdon Amblers, Bicester Harriers, Oxford City, Radley and White Horse Harriers have taken part.
