OXFORD City’s Steve Male, pictured after winning the Abingdon Marathon in October, is expected to be one of Oxfordshire’s leading finishers in the Virgin London Marathon on Sunday.

Male, whose likely rivals for the county’s ‘No 1 spot’ include Abingdon Amblers’ Paul Fernandez, Nigel Marley, from Bicester, and Oxford University’s David Bruce, warmed up by winning the Abingdon Parkrun on Saturday in 16mins 35secs.
