ATHLETICS: Briscoe regains county title

Frances Briscoe regained her Oxfordshire County Championship ladies’ title, which was held in conjunction with the Oxford Mail League race at Middleton Cheney.

Steve Naylor successfully defended his men’s crown.

Naylor eased to victory by 75 seconds, but Briscoe was pushed all the way on the same course as her triumph in 2010.

She held off the challenge of Oxford University student Courtney Bishop (Liverpool) by 25 seconds.
