OXFORDSHIRE’S youngsters shone in the South East Regional Sportshall final at Burgess Hill.
The under 13 girls finished in the silver medal position as they amassed 568 points, while the boys finished in third place on 507 points.
In the girls’ competition, the obstacle relay team of Shannon Parker, Charlotte Strange, Charlotte Grant and Kara McLoughlin took the gold medal, while the boys’ quartet of Alfie Howlett, Nathan Grieveson, Rory O’Neill and Jacob Walton did likewise.
Oxon’s girls also took a gold medal in the under 13 4x1 lap race.
Liam Grieveson was in outstanding form to win gold in the two-lap race, and he also took first place in the vertical jump with a height of 66cm.
Under 15 girls Verity Shayler recorded a score of 91 to win the speed bounce, while Emma O’Hara took silver with a fine shot putt of 10.64m.
In the under 15 boys’ competition, Edward Burgess bounced to silver with a score of 85. The national record, which was held by Oxfordshire’s Joe Bibby, was surpassed by Dudley Mason of Hampshire with a score of 99.
