JADE O’Dowda will make her international debut this weekend when she takes to the track in Spain.

The Oxford City AC youngster has been selected by Great Britain for the first time to compete at the Indoor Combined Events International in Madrid.

O’Dowda will pit her wits against athletes from the Czech Republic, France, Poland and Spain in the indoor pentathlon at the two-day event.

The 18-year-old made an impressive start to the year a fortnight ago.

She won silver in the indoor pentathlon at the England Athletics U20 Combined Events Championships in Sheffield.
