OXFORD City’s Zoe Pollock is celebrating after landing Under 20 pentathlon gold at the Southern Indoor Championships.
Competing in her first competition in the age category, she triumphed with an overall tally of 3,637 points.
The haul has seen Pollock move up to fourth in the 2017 under 20 rankings.
The City athlete started well, winning the 60m hurdles in a personal best time of 8.69secs.
Pollock recorded further bests in the shot (9.71m) and high jump (1.55m) to extend her lead.
She followed that up with a solid long jump of 5.33m, before running away from the field to win the 800m in 2mins 20.14secs and take the overall title.
Meanwhile, Headington Roadrunner Sam O’Neill won the Hooky Christmas Canter.
He defied wet and tricky conditions to triumph in 44mins 56secs ahead of Banbury Harriers’ Owen Knox.
Fancy dress was optional and Alchester’s Jenny McBain was feeling festive as she crossed 23rd overall and second female, all while dressed as a Christmas tree.
Rachel Bennett, of White Horse Harriers, topped the vet 45 category, while Woodstock Harrier Rob Wester led the way in the vet 50 group.
