ATHLETICS: Champion Aaron Burgess wins Mota-vation Series finale

The Oxford City runner, who clinched the senior men’s title and championship by winning the previous round at Combe, edged clubmate Maxwell Robinson by two seconds.

Woodstock Harrier James Bolton, who led during the early stages, finished a further second back in third, helping him win the vet 40 crown.

City retained the men’s team championship after six of their runners finished in the top eight.

Headington’s Diane Moore won the ladies vet 35 division and series title with her main rival Sophie Carter, of Woodstock, who runs for Belgrave Harriers, not running.

Hook Norton’s Donna Allen won the senior ladies crown.

Headington retained the team championship, with their B team third behind Hook Norton Runners.
