ALEX Miell-Ingram broke an under 20 club record as Radley took second in the penultimate Division 1 fixture in west London.

Despite taking a team of only 23 athletes to their fourth Southern League meet, they rallied to finish behind hosts Thames Valley Harriers.

Miell-Ingram was the star performer, breaking Radley’s U20 3,000m record in clocking 9mins 36.9secs to take second in the B-string race.

The previous holder, Stuart Ferguson, now 23, won the A-string event in 9.04.1 as well as the 800m in 1.58.7.

Lucy Hooper, who competed in both relays, amassed 19 points overall, while Chris Shaw (13), Ashley Johnson (12) Katie Gregory (nine) and Jordan Dorrian (eight) contributed.

Radley’s youngsters claimed victory ahead of Banbury Harriers at the last round of the Heart of England League season to win Division 2.

Bicester were also in action, finishing sixth at their joint home meet with Banbury.

Ella Lovibond, of Radley, claimed both the under 15 A-string javelin and shot, while Lizzie Eskender shone on her home ground for Harriers to win the long jump.

Radley’s Victoria Harte was victorious in the under 17 A-string shot, while Banbury’s Rebecca Scott and Shannon Dawes took first in the high jump and javelin.

Their clubmate Tegan Armstrong triumphed in the under 13 70m hurdles, and Marina Semple (Radley) won the long jump and 200m.

Bicester’s Charlotte Kavanagh clinched the under 11 long jump.

In the boys competition, Radley’s Elliot Couse and Harry Woodcock won the under 17 long jump and javelin respectively.

Rowan Miell-Ingram and Theau Seabrook were second in the under 13 800m and 75m hurdles.

Harriers’ Christopher Char-les excelled in the throwing events, clinching the javelin and coming second in the shot.

Banbury’s 4x100m relay team of Charles, Jordan Broersma, Charlie Evans and Archie Jones took second.

Ethan Aldous led the charge for Harriers in the under 11 competition, winning the 75m, 600m and long jump.

Banbury’s Kody Johnson and Owen Knox enjoyed under 15 A-string victories in the shot and 1,500m.

Jamil Welham, of Bicester, won the 300m.

Harriers’s under 17 4x100m relay team of Matthew Hall, Ollie Sprio, Charlie Yates and Felix Noble also triumphed.

Hall and Sprio also won the A-string 400m and 200m respectively, while Bicester’s Ben West took the 1,500m.
