Fiona Bunn and Megan Humphreys secured victories in the Apex Sports Chiltern Cross Country League at Campbell Park, Milton Keynes.

Bunn (Abingdon) won the under 15 girls’ race after outsprinting Morven Goodrum (Windsor) by one second.

Bunn completed the two-lap course in 13mins 20secs, backing up her recent victories in the Oxford Mail Cross Country League and Oxfordshire Schools’ Championships.

Humphreys (Oxford City) finished first in the under 17 girls’ race, recording 16.40 over a longer two-lap route.

Humphreys, who triumphed by 39 seconds, won at the same venue in December, but did not compete in enough races to contest the title.

Oxford City, who were relegated this time last year, secured promotion from Division 2 at the first time of asking by finishing top.

City ended 361 points clear of Gade Valley after a solid showing in the final round.

Headington Road Runners will swap places with Oxford after being relegated from Division 1.

The club finished 194 points adrift of safety, despite a stirling effort.

On the day, they were the ninth-ranked club with 1,281 points.

On the individual front, Banbury Harriers’ Tim Wright took the Division 2 senior men’s title.

Fellow Harriers Simon Pritchard (vet 40 men), Michelle Bartlett (vet 35 ladies) and Ross Kelling (vet 45 ladies) won their respective age groups.

Oxford secured Divisions 2 crowns through Stewart Thorp (vet 60 men), Gwyneth Hueter (vet 55 ladies) and Marnie Wilson (under 17 girls).

Headington won the vet 60 individual title courtesy of Neville Baker.

And clubmate Chris Dett-mar was second in the vet 40 standings, leading the club to the same place in the team category.
