WOODSTOCK Harrier Sophie Carter set a personal best and new club record in finishing 20th at the BUPA Great South Run.

Carter clocked 1hr 1min 3secs for the ten-mile course, which took in many of Portsmouth’s landmarks.

Among the men, Oxford University’s Fabian Downs finished 27th in 52.09 – his fastest yet for the distance.

Alchester’s Richard Gould smashed his personal best and set a new vet 40 club record in the process, finishing 52nd in a time of 57.59.
