Substitute Joe Barrett scored the winner as Headington Amateurs won 5-4 in extra-time at Hook Norton in the first round of the Bluefin Sports Challenge Cup on Saturday.
Trailing 4-2 with four minutes left, it looked all over for Headington.
But Luke Cuff completed his hat-trick before Ben Green sent the tie into to extra time.
Then came Barrett’s winning goal.
Reece Bayliss, Jason Tillcock and Dan Watkin (2) were the scorers for Hook Norton.
AFC Hinksey went down to a 3-2 defeat at home to Wokingham & Embrook.
Dan Bateman (2) and a Luke Lee strike did the damage for the visitors with Kieran Davis and Sean Flaherty scoring for the hosts.
Carterton lost 4-2 in extra-time at Chalfont Wasps.
Fred Tripp (2), Tom Kiall and Alex Feaver netted for the home side, with Mark Norridge and Gio Wrona hitting back for Carterton. Chinnor bowed out following a 3-1 defeat at Flackwell Heath, for whom Louis Cordice (2) and Jonathan Case netted. Ryan Daly replied. Clanfield needed extra time to beat Purton 2-1 after the tie ended 1-1 in normal time.
Steve Olphert cancelled out Dave Gee’s opener for Purton, before he struck the winner for Clanfield.
Easington Sports beat Fairford Town 3-2 with goals from Lewis Travers, Craig Pearman and Ben Milner.
Cameron McClarty (2) scored for Fairford. Kidlington saw off Maidenhead United Res 3-1, thanks to a Jack Dunmall brace and a Ryan Curtin penalty. Joe Crook replied. Thame United won 3-1 at Letcombe with goals from Stuart Barr, Dan West and Nik Rhodes. Adam Bruce scored for Letcombe.
Wantage Town won 2-0 against Wootton Bassett with Tom Butler and Richard Claydon on target. Witney Town edged out Bracknell Town 3-2, thanks to a Conor McDonagh double and a James Dobson goal. Scott Williams and Shane Cooper-Clark replied for Bracknell.
Abingdon Town put their Premier Division woes on hold with a 1-0 extra-time win at Woodley Town, Ross Butler scored the penalty winner.
