Oxford City Stars ran out 4-3 winners over Invicta Mustangs in their first home game in English National League Division 2 South.

Matthew Drake gave Invicta the lead with a breakaway goal, before James Clark levelled with just 11 seconds left of the first period.

Alan Green fired Stars ahead a minute into the second period after a bullet pass from Darren Elliott, and Nick Oliver stretched their advantage following good work by Darryl Jones.

Drake pulled one back with his second.

However, a Sam Broughton strike restored Oxford’s two-goal cushion early in the third period.

Richard Smith reduced the deficit again, but Stars held on.
