Oxford Hawks ladies lost 2-0 away to Ipswich in their opening Investec League Conference East fixture.
Oxford went down 5-1 at home to Reading 1A in their Saturday morning friendly.
Good work from Harriet Wilkinson and Catherine Reaney set up Kim Haynes for Oxford’s goal, which made it 1-1 at the break.
Reading upped a gear in the second half as they added four more goals, two of them in the last five minutes.

In men's hockey, Toby Blong led the way with a hat-trick as Oxford Hawks 3rd beat Oxford 3rd 5-1 in a friendly.

Hawks’ first-team fixture against Oxford University was cancelled.
Bicester lost 4-0 to Stratford in their final warm-up match before their league campaign gets under way.
