OXFORD City’s Hannah England finished third for the second year running in New York’s Fifth Avenue Mile on Saturday.
The race was won by Brenda Martinez in 4mins 24.2secs, ahead of another American, Anna Pierce.
England was third in 4.26.0. England (pictured), who finished fifth, fourth, and third in the previous three years, said: “I was watching Anna and thinking, ‘I’m meant to be there!’ “But maybe I can skip second place next time.”
