FOOTBALL: Blossom rejoins Banbury

Wayne Blossom, released last week by Oxford City, has rejoined struggling Premier Divison club Banbury United.

The versatile Blossom first joined Banbury rom Highfield Old Boys in 2002.

He played initially as a full back, but then turned out in a variety of positions – often up front – scoring a total of 42 goals in 296 appearance until he left in 2008.

He then played for a number of clubs including Brackley Town, Leamington, and Daventry Town, before joining Oxford City in September 2010. Playing at centre-back, he was captain in City’s promotion-winning side to the Blue Square Bet Noirth last season.

But Blossom had limited firstt-team opportunities at Court Place Farm this season and decided he needed to move back to Banbury.
