FOOTBALL: Stein is keen on repeat show

Banbury United manager Edwin Stein wants a repeat show away to Stourbridge in Evo-Stik Southern League Premier Division.

But he says he is not getting carried away by Saturday’s 1-0 win against Chippenham – the Puritans first victory under his charge.

“It was a good win and we thorougly deserved it,” said Stein.“I thought the guys applied themselves outstandingly. “We are gradually turning things around, but it’s still early days – we’re on the first rung of the ladder.”

Meanwhile, Stein is expected to stick with a similar line-up.

He added: “I don’t believe in changing a winning team.

“At the moment it’s about building the players’ confidence.

“When I first arrived here it was a dour place with everyone expecting this season to be a struggle.

“I want the players looking for ward to games and to training.”
