CRICKET: Marlborough School lift crown

Marlborough, Woodstock, cruised to an easy (nine-wicket win over Warriner, Bloxham, in the Oxfordshire Under 13 Schools’ League final, held over from earlier in the summer.

Having won the toss, Marlborough put Warriner in to bat and bowled them out for 40.

Captain Lloyd Belcher and Tyron Eyles took two wickets each, with Michael King, Liam Hatton and Aidan Buckley also chipping in.

Marlborough then reached the target easily with Belcher unbeaten on 19.

Aston Rowant face Great & Little Tew in the Oxfordshire Under 17 Club Championship final at Horspath tomorrow (10am).

They will be battling it out for the Honey-B Trophy presented in memory of former Horspath cricketer Morris Honey.
