BADMINTON: Langfords in title treble

TWINS Edith and Imogen Langford, from Harwell, collected three titles in the season-opening Oxfordshire Under 21 Restricted tournament at Bartholomew School, Eynsham.

Edith won the women’s singles, and teamed up with sister Imogen to take the women’s doubles.

Imogen then completed claimed the mixed doubles with Jamie Blair (Didcot).

Alex Smith (Abingdon) won the men’s singles, with Joe Roberts (Brize Norton) taking the plate.

Sanjana Kini (Begbroke) claimed the women’s singles plate, while Blair and Michael Brockie (Faringdon) were the men’s doubles champions.

• DIDCOT’S Dan Blair won a bronze medal in the Berkshire under 15 silver tournament at Reading.

Blair beat Sussex’s Julian Cheung 15-14, 15-12 in the quarter-finals, but was then edged out by Berkshire’s Euan Farrow.
