GOLF: Joy for Reynolds duo

THE Chipping Norton pairing of Graham and Claire Reynolds proved a winning combination in a nationwide Fathers and Daughters competition staged at Tadmarton Heath.
With dad Graham, playing off a seven handicap, and Claire off six, the duo went round in 77 to take the best gross prize for 18 holes in the foursomes medal.
They finished five shots clear of runners-up, Bicester duo Mark and Laura Watkins.
Tadmarton players Steve and Amy Boote made home advantage count to card the best nett score over 18 holes, a 68.5.
The field of 38 pairs included Martin O’Neill, the manager of Premier League football club Sunderland, and his daughter Alana.
They finished on 167 over 27 holes for a nett 131.
RESULTS 18 hole gross: 1 G Reynolds & C Reynolds (Chipping Norton) 77, 2 M Watkins & L Watkins (Bicester) 82 (cb), 3 R Haig & R Haig (Northants County) 82.
18 hole nett: S Boote & A Boote (Tadmarton Heath) 68.5, 2 T Gasking (Mentmore) & J Thomas (Silverstone) 73, 3 R Robinson (Leyland) & N Braid (West Kilbride) 73.5.
